Quality and Sustainability

Since 1999 Ernestomeda has been running a QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM complying with UNI EN ISO 9001 standards and that has subsequently been updated to the 2000 version (called Vision 2000).

The System aims to manage the main company processes in the best possible way, from the planning through to the management of raw material suppliers, from the testing and checking of incoming and outgoing materials to the control of the production processes and from the processing of orders through to the processing of customer requests, with the main aim of ensuring complete satisfaction for Ernestomeda customers at all times.

In 2004 Ernestomeda, always committed to striving for the lowest possible impact of its production processes, implemented an ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM compliant with the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard, demonstrating its responsible, intelligent corporate attitude to environmental concerns. Through the  Environmental Management System, particular attention is paid to issues such as energy consumption, noise pollution, atmospheric emissions and waste management, in full compliance with the relevant regulations.

Today, Ernestomeda continues to adopt policies focused on continuous improvement and the reinforcement of a corporate ethic that prioritises health and safety.  In December 2008 the company achieved prestige certification for its  Occupational Health and Safety Management System under BS OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series).

The OHSAS 18001 standard was published by the British Standards Institution on 1st July 2007 and is internationally recognised as the official benchmark with regard to health and safety at work.  It covers the procedures by which a company identifies and monitors risk and all hazards which may arise from its operations, to manage them effectively and optimise its performance.

All the Management Systems have been certified by the international SGS body, the world leader in the field of verification of industrial goods and services. SGS relies on the use of precise, detailed instruments in order to test the compliance of company processes with certain regulatory reference standards and to ensure their relative improvement.

It is any company's duty not to be indifferent to the legitimate needs of the environment and the protection of its resources. This is the crowning glory of a new way of doing business, which is never an end in itself, but is linked to the responsibility and sensitivity that Ernestomeda has always shown in its social and human relationships.

Ernestomeda, which is always seeking the best available planning solutions, consistently works towards offering a product that, in addition to its design excellence, is also strong, safe and high quality. To this end, Ernestomeda performs a range of tests on the materials, both during the planning stage and thereafter during the checking stage, both in its own in-house laboratories and using the services of the best outside laboratories in the field. These tests are carried out with reference either to company and/or international standards, or (particularly where the latter are lacking) on the basis of specific in-house techniques.
